A World-Class Facility for All Seasons
Situated just off Scotland’s north-east coastline, Stonehaven Tennis Club has long faced challenges from strong coastal winds and heavy rain, making outdoor tennis nearly impossible during the colder months. To overcome these harsh conditions, the club partnered with DUOL to install a modern, fully insulated air dome with advanced climate control, ensuring continuous play throughout the year, regardless of weather.
“This is a world-class facility,” said Bruce McIver, the club’s head coach. “It gives the community in Stonehaven a real chance to step forward into tennis.”

Bruce McIver welcomed the dome's benefits
The new air dome was designed in a green color to blend harmoniously with its natural surroundings while providing superior protection and comfort. Designed to withstand strong coastal gusts and extreme weather, the dome will remain operational from September to April, providing an ideal environment for both players and coaches.

Karl Lebedis, speaking on behalf of the club, emphasized that the dome represents a significant investment in the region’s sporting infrastructure — one that will enhance accessibility and inspire participation.
“The availability of an indoor arena such as this will allow the club to offer a much better coaching and playing experience, especially for our junior players,” said Lebedis. “It’s a facility that will be very good for the town and its community.”
